- There is no Work Checkout account, and we don't ask for your name or email address.
- Everything you capture (text, voice notes, images and text read from images) is stored in the app on your phone. We never receive it.
- Apple or Google process your payments. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, confirms your access.
- The app sends anonymous usage counts, such as "a capture was saved", with a random ID that isn't linked to you.
- We don't sell your information or show ads.
Who we are
Work Checkout is published by Ascending North Group Pty Ltd (ACN 701 554 118), referred to here as "we", "us" or "our". You can contact us at hello@ascendingnorth.com.
What stays on your phone
The following is stored in the app's private storage on your phone and is not sent to us or anyone else:
- Your entries: typed text, voice notes, photos and images you add
- Text read from your images. This is processed on your phone to support future features and is not shown or sent anywhere
- Your settings, such as checkout time, workdays and reminder preference
If you use iCloud or Google backup, your phone may include the app's data in those backups. Backups are managed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies, and we cannot access them.
What leaves your phone

Usage events never include what you capture: no text, voice notes, images, text read from images, or names of people, clients or projects.
Our service providers may store information outside Australia. We only use providers that we consider handle information securely. You can read RevenueCat's privacy policy and Supabase's privacy policy.
Permissions
The app only asks for a permission when you use the feature that needs it, and uses it only for that feature.
- Notifications: to send your checkout reminder and, during a free trial, one reminder before the trial ends.
- Microphone: to record a voice note when you choose Talk.
- Camera: to take a photo when you choose Take Photo.
- Photos: the app uses your phone's photo picker, so it only receives the images you choose.
You can change these at any time in your phone's settings.
Deleting your information
- Deleting an entry also deletes its voice note or image.
- Settings, Delete all data removes every entry, image and voice note from your phone. This can't be undone.
- Uninstalling the app removes its data from your phone, although copies may remain in your phone backups.
Because usage events are anonymous and there is no account, we cannot link them to you. If you have a question about them, contact us and we will help where we can.
Children
Work Checkout is designed for working adults and is not directed at children under 16.
Security
Your entries are kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Information sent to our providers is transmitted over encrypted connections. We recommend using a passcode on your phone.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask about the information we hold, or make a complaint, by emailing hello@ascendingnorth.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes the way it handles information, we will update this policy and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's update notes.
